it is, but it isn’t.

i took the plunge and made my first purchase from new beauty flash sale site gloss48. when i buy cosmetic and skincare products online, i typically veer towards products for the nails, lip or skin. so i was super excited to be introduced to a new brand: laqa & co.

initially attracted to their nail polish pens {seriously}, i ended up with a lip pencil duo: wolfman and lambchop.

they arrived this weekend and i couldn’t be more excited to see the package in my mailbox. but it was what was inside that truly made an impression.

first, the packaging is drop dead gorgeous. laqa & co work with artists to design a unique package for each of their products. and the actual product is beautiful. crisp white with a touch of color.

the actual lip pencils are all kinds of amazing. initially i was a tad shy to try the punchy pink lambchop shade, but once applied i realized it provided a nice, sheer pop of color. in a nutshell, the perfect for summer lip. and not surprising, wolfman {a baby pink} will likely be my go-to until it runs out. will i ever outgrow loving baby pink lips? with 30 rapidly approaching {less than 6 months, eek!}, i often wonder if my lips will ever grow up.

back to the products. the texture is surprisingly pretty stellar for a lip pencil. a little on the dry side for my preference {alas, it’s a pencil}, but it provides a nice matte look. i did not find the lip pencils to be drying in any way, which was a nice surprise. they’re sort of a lip pencil, but sort of not. they’re something better.

i’m intrigued by their nail pens. and with my newfound love for the brand, i may have to indulge in one {or two…}.
